“Making Dream Real”
Follow-up Report
Rotary Club of Saco Bay/District 7780 USA
Partnering with Rotary District 3780/Philippines

As a result of a meeting the Philippine GSE team in May 2008, the Rotary Club of Saco Bay partnered with Philippine Rotaract club President, Tet Atanacio, to support and enhance the clubs on going nutritional program. Tet and her colleagues shared a report that 27 out of 100 children in the Philippines are malnourished and they were doing their part to change those numbers. A a plan of action RC Timog President Greg Buhain along with his Rotaract team joined forces with the Department of Health to provide regular meals of high nutritional value and lectures to parents on good meal planning for their families.
During their official club visit to the Rotary Club of Saco Bay, District Governor Brad and Penny Jett accept a check for $650 on behalf of the Philippine nutritional program from the club membership. Those funds allowed the Philippine nutritional program to double in size, touching hundreds of needy children.

In a recent e-mail from Tet Atanacio she says, “We thank you for heeding RI President DK Lee's call and helping address the needs of the children in the Philippines. We know we are at the far end of the globe, but this does not change the fact that Rotarians exist to help change the world--whatever nationality or race one may belong to. Because of this, our world becomes smaller and international peace and understanding is made possible thru these efforts.
Once again, we thank you for entrusting us with this project. We hope that we may also help your club one way or another in the years to come.
Very truly yours,
Tet”
