A message from the club president.

Greetings Fellow Rotarians and Friends,
I am honored to serve as the President of the Rotary Club of Saco Bay during it's 20th year of existence. Our club has been involved in the communities of Biddeford, Saco and Old Orchard Beach since it's founding in 1989 and plans call for it to do so in the upcoming year. We have also done international projects in different parts of the world. The following list includes just some of those projects and programs.
- Official "Toys for Tots" provider in York County
- Creation and support of the Literacy Program at the County Jail
- Assist with preparation and serving of meals at the Bon Appetite Soup Kitchen
- Award numerous Scholarships to local students
- Support of the local Food Pantry
- Host and Sponsor Students through the Rotary Youth Exchange Program
- Support of Biddeford Free Dental Clinic
- Sponsor a college Rotaract Club at UNE
- Support Interact Clubs at Thorton Academy and Old Orchard Beach
- Building of an Earthen Stairway as part of the Saco River Walk Project
- Support of youth Nutrition Program in the Philippine Islands
In addition, our goal is to add the following additional projects this year:
- Work with the Salvation Army at Camp Sebago
- Provide and install a water fountain and build and install a kiosk for Memorial Park in Old Orchard Beach
As a Rotarian I am very proud of the work Rotary International has done in it's quest to eradicate polio from the face of this earth. Since this project was started in the 1980's, new cases of polio have been reduced by 99% and new cases are only being reported in four countries. We will continue to support the efforts of Rotary with a public awareness campaign and fundraising for the PolioPlus program. By the time polio is eradicated over a billion dollars will have been raised by Rotarians through out the world. You can go to the following link for more information on this very important program.

This year ahead we look forward to continuing our club's and organization's dedication to "Service Above Self" as we strive, in honor of our International President, John Kenny and the motto "The Future of Rotary is in Your Hands"
Thank you for your continued support and for all you do.
Dennis Robillard
